DentsKart vs Dentsoftware: Which Fits an Indian Dental Clinic?

One is a long-established multi-country system with an offline option. The other is cloud-only, India-only, and publishes its prices. Written from each product's own public pages.

Dentsoftware has been around a long time, works in more than twenty countries, and shows a client list full of Indian dental colleges. DentsKart is newer, works only in India, and is built for one clinic at a time.

Those are different products for different practices, and the honest answer to "which is better" is that it depends on one thing more than any other: whether you want software installed on a machine in your clinic or software that lives on the internet.

How this was written. Everything attributed to Dentsoftware was read off dentsoftware.com and its pricing page on 9 September 2026 and is quoted rather than paraphrased. Where they publish nothing, this page says so. We make one of the two products here, so verify anything that matters to you on their site rather than taking our word for it.

The one question that decides it

Dentsoftware says it "is available as both Offline and Online dental software" and offers "Both On-premise and Cloud based" deployment. DentsKart is cloud only. There is no offline build and there never will be.

Choose on-premise if: your internet is genuinely unreliable, or you have a settled institutional preference for records that live on a machine you can point at. Dental colleges frequently do, which is presumably why so many are on their client list.

Choose cloud if: you want the record on your phone at home, you do not want to think about backups, and you do not want a machine in the clinic to be a single point of failure. A hard disk in a dental clinic is the least backed-up storage device in India.

Neither answer is wrong. But it decides the shortlist, so decide it before comparing anything else.

Published pricing, and the absence of it

DentsKart publishes its plans: Rs.999, Rs.1,999 and Rs.2,999 a month, flat per clinic, plus 18% GST, with what is in each tier written out on the pricing page.

Dentsoftware's pricing page says "Simple, affordable and honest pricing" and names five tiers, Executive, Plus and Enterprise for clinics and Professional and Advanced for colleges. It publishes no amount against any of them. It says: "You will get 7 days free trial. Fill up the form and get a free trial. Our team will contact you with pricing details."

This is not unusual. Of the four Indian dental systems we checked on the same day, DentsKart was the only one publishing a rate card. Practo does not publish Ray's tiers, Cliniify publishes none, BestoSys publishes none.

It is still worth weighing. Software priced by conversation is priced by how the conversation goes, and you cannot calculate your real three-year cost while you are still deciding, which is the only time the calculation would change your mind.

Where Dentsoftware is the better choice

You are a dental college or a large multi-speciality group. Their site speaks directly to "Multi specialty practice or a chain of dental clinics," and their client list is heavy with institutions. DentsKart is one clinic per account, with no chain view and no multi-branch reporting. For an institution this is disqualifying and we would rather you knew now.

You want deep per-speciality modules. They list "Lab, Expense, Perio, Ortho, Endo, Prostho, Pedo" as distinct areas. If you run a busy orthodontic or endodontic practice and want the software shaped around that speciality, look closely at those modules. DentsKart covers general practice well and does not go as deep per speciality.

You work outside India. They say they operate across 25+ countries. DentsKart handles one country's tax, currency and phone formats properly and is not sold anywhere else.

You need it to keep working when the connection drops. Covered above. This is the real one.

Where DentsKart is the better choice

You are one clinic and you want to be running today. No installation, no server, no visit. Sign up, add your chairs and your price list, and the booking page exists on your own subdomain the same afternoon.

You want the tax handled as Indian tax. GST-compliant invoicing, UPI payment links, partial payments and a day-close, with money held in paise so a rounding error cannot appear between what a patient paid and what the ledger says. Dentsoftware describes "integrated dental billing with multiple modes of payment including insurance" and does not mention GST specifically. Ask them how Indian GST is handled before you decide it is a non-issue.

You want dictation. DentsKart drafts a treatment record, a multi-visit plan or a history note from one spoken sentence, in English, Hindi or a mix of the two. Dentsoftware's public pages do not mention AI or voice features at all. That is an absence of a claim rather than proof of absence, so ask, but it does not appear to be part of what they sell.

You want safety checks that know what you are doing. Prescriptions are checked against the patient's recorded allergies, and a procedure that is risky given the patient's history raises a specific warning rather than a general flag. Neither is mentioned on their site.

Where DentsKart is genuinely weaker

Track record. They have been doing this for many years across many countries with a client list you can read. We have not. If longevity is part of how you judge whether software will still be there in 2031, that is a real point against us and we are not going to argue it away.

No offline mode, no chains, no per-speciality depth. All three above, and all three are reasons clinics correctly choose them over us.

Automated WhatsApp is not live. Click-to-chat from any patient record works today. Fully automated reminders are built and switched off pending Meta Business approval. We do not describe them as shipped.

How to decide in an afternoon

  1. Answer the offline question first. It removes one of the two products for most clinics.
  2. Get pricing in writing from Dentsoftware before their 7-day trial ends, including renewal and what happens if you add a chair. Compare it against a page you can read without asking anyone.
  3. Do one real day in each. Book a morning, record a treatment, raise an invoice, take a part payment. Not a tour, a day.
  4. Ask both what leaving looks like. DentsKart exports to Excel and CSV from every list at any time. Ask them for the same in writing.

No numbers you cannot check

There is no percentage improvement quoted anywhere on this page, because we do not have a sample that would make one honest. A vendor comparison that hands you a precise improvement figure without a sample size is advertising, including when we do it. Earlier versions of our own marketing carried figures like that and they were withdrawn.

DentsKart is cloud practice management software for Indian dental clinics: appointments, patient records and FDI tooth charts, treatment plans, lab cases, GST billing and an online booking page. Pricing is published, features are listed in full, and the 14-day trial does not ask for a card. Dentsoftware's own site is at dentsoftware.com and is the right place to check anything attributed to them here.
